Ashley Rowe
Ashley Rowe co-anchors Buffalo WKBW's 7 Eyewitness News at 5, 6 and 11 p.m.

Since joining Buffalo’s WKBW in 2016, Ashley Rowe has become one of the faces of the 7 Eyewitness News team, co-anchoring the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts.

Prior to her move to Buffalo, Ashely was with CTV Toronto, reporting on stories across the GTA and filling in as anchor on occasion. She led an investigation uncovering the murky commercial trade of reproductive eggs in the GTA; was central in the team coverage at Toronto City hall during the height of the Mayor Rob Ford controversy following his crack-cocaine admission; and was one of the first reporters on the scene at the Toronto Eaton Centre after gunfire erupted in the food court.

Her stories have been picked up by CTV National News, Canada AM, CTV News Channel, and The Globe and Mail.

Ashley got her start as a reporter for CHCH TV in Hamilton, where she covered stories including the G20 Summit in Toronto, the 2010 municipal election night and the 2011 federal election night.

Prior to her move to broadcast news, Ashley was a newscaster and reporter for 106.9XFM in London, ON.

In February, 2010, she went to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games to launch and demonstrate VeriCorder technology, an iPhone application for mobile journalists that allowed them to file from the field. While at Vancouver 2010, Ashley reported for Astral Media radio stations across the country.

Ashley’s desire to tell stories led her to attend the concurrent Media Theory and Production (MTP) program at Fanshawe College and Western University. She graduated with honours from the program and was the recipient of the Fanshawe College’s “Broadcast Journalist of the Year” and “Newscaster of the Year Award” in 2010.

A proud third generation news hound, her father is a prominent Canadian documentary filmmaker, and her grandfather, a newspaper editor and reporter.

Off the job, Ashley enjoys getting outdoors, sailing in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. She has a passion for fashion and politics, and is a patron of the arts and supporter of LGBT equality.
